Eloquii Petites Review

Hey Friends!!!
I know it's been way too long and life just got in the way but I've got some fun things planned for October so look out for that because I'm really excited. So one of my biggest problems with plus size clothing is it's so long on me because I'm only 5'2 and a lot of clothes are made for taller women. So I'm always looking for clothing that can fit my petite size which brings me today's post. Eloquii just released a petites line and I have something from the line to review for you.
So when I was younger I thought petite meant small so I never thought I would ever use that word to describe myself. But when now that I'm older I learned that petite in sizes means someone that is shorter then a 5'4 which actually describes me. But when I would look at petite clothing I found out none of the clothes were in my size. So I always ended up getting clothing and then having to get it fixed to fit me. So when I found out Eloquii was making a petite line I was so excited.
So if you haven't heard of Eloquii before they are a private company based in New York and Columbus Ohio. The design clothing in sizes 12 - 24. On there website it says "We love fashion. We believe in it's transformative power." I remember hearing about them before when they used to be in a store called the limited but then the brand decided to stop carrying the line. They are now an independent brand of it's own that creates trend-driven and contemporary clothing.
So I'm wearing an item from Eloquii's petite line, you can see the line (here) and I got this cute preppy fit and flare dress. (here) I decided to get a dress because I love the preppy vibes of the dress. I love black and white but have been trying to incorporate more color and this dress is such a great way to do it

So one of the problems I have with dresses is they can be really long on me and I always have to get them hemmed shorter, so I decided to give a dress in this line a try. The dress on the websites model falls just above the knee and which is exactly where it falls for me, which is amazing because like I said dresses usually longer on me and I have to get them hemmed, yay for not having to do anything to the dress. So I have to say that it's great fit as far as the length of the dress is concerned.
As for the dress, I read online that the dress ran a little small so I decided to size up in this dress, I got a 16P and it fits pretty well on me. The dress is made of scuba knit fabric which has some stretch to it but not too much which is why it's a little snug on top but I think it's suppose to be that way. The dress is really comfortable and I you could totally wear the dress into cooler weather with a sweater or a jacket.
All in all I love the dress and I'm glad that there is a new place to get petites in plus sizes. The line isn't that big right now but I'm hoping one day that they will offer more of the styles on the website in petite sizes.
Thanks so much for reading! Have a great day!

XOXO - Nina

  1. This is so darling and chic, and it fits you perfectly! I'm 5'4", so sometimes lengths are just right, and sometimes they're a bit too long. I've found the latter with Eloquii, so I'm also excited about the new petites line. I initially thought this was a skirt and blouse, but it's such a chic and thoughtfully designed dress! I love how you played with print mixing by adding the crisscross pumps and colorblocked bag. And that bow belt finishes the look to perfection!

  3. I have always been intrigued with the Eloquii brand and had no idea they used to be sold at The Limited. I am right in the edge of the petite height at 5' 5" but with me being short waisted, I find that petite cuts typically work better on me as well both through the torso and skirt length. This dress is so cute and I love how you styled it with the printed shoes!
