Curves Around the World: Bombshell

HELLO BEAUTIES!!!
Happy Hump day, were half way to the weekend! I hope everyone is having a great week so far.
Well it's that time of the week again for another "Curves Around the World" post and this week's theme is "Bombshell." So the definition of bombshell is a very attractive person or a "sex symbol" and let me tell you I don't think of myself as a "Bombshell" at all. I have had a long journey to loving myself and my body but I'm not at the level to really think of myself as a "Bombshell," but hopefully I'll get to that level of confidence where I can call myself that. So you could imagine I was having a hard time deciding what to wear, I actually took pictures and didn't like how they came out and I ended up changing it up afterwards.
So what I ended up wearing was my Vegas dress, if you read my last CATW post you know I went to Vegas and this is one of the dresses I wore. I really like this dress because it's red and black and I like how its ruched. The dress is actually a lot longer passed my knee but I had my mom make it a few inches shorter to make it more Vegas appropriate dress. Actually to make it more Vegas it probably needs to be shorten more but this is a comfortable length for me. You know how hard it was to find a Vegas appropriate dress, all the dresses I saw were ones that are very flowy and covered up. I actually couldn't find a dress so I wore this one that I already had, but I love this dress so it was ok.

So I decided to wear my blazer with the dress because when I think of "Bombshell" I think of powerful women and my blazer makes me feel more powerful for some reason. But also because I think to be a "Bombshell" you don't need to show lots of skin and the blazer just made the dress more appropriate for the day and made me feel more comfortable with it on.
I did my makeup for today's post too, I usually wear makeup but I wore a little more because makeup makes me feel more of a "Bombshell" but when I look at my pictures you can't really tell much. But I telling you I really am wearing more, I need to learn how to do my makeup better. I watch so many tutorials on youtube but I'm still not very good with makeup. Anyone have any suggestions or youtube channels you can recommend for makeup? :)

So what do you think of "Bombshell" or what makes you feel like "Bombshell"?

Pinay Curvies...Something Old

Hello Everyone! Sorry I haven't posted, we decided to postpone our "Curves Around the World" post for this upcoming week and it was perfect for me because it took me a little longer to recover from Vegas plus I got a bit of cold. I'm still not feeling 100% yet but I'm getting there.

So for today's post is for Pinay Curvies theme for January and it's "Something Old." I wasn't sure what to wear because I'm the kind of person that doesn't really like throwing things away unless it doesn't fit me. So I have quite a few things in my wardrobe that you can consider old but I decided to pick out one of my older items that happens to be my favorite one as well.

So the item I chose was my forever 21+ jean jacket, or should I say Faith 21 because I got this jacket when it forever 21 first launched there plus line and it was called faith 21. So you know that it's pretty old because since they have expanded there line quite a bit and its called Forever 21+. But yeah it's one of my favorite items in my closet and I wear it a lot, you can tell because I've already featured this jacket a few times on my blog already. This jean jacket is so close to my heart because it was one of the jackets I had when I was living in the Philippines and I wore it a lot, so it has a lot of memories attached to it. You can also tell that my jacket has gone through a lot because it's faded and it's starting to tear in a few places but it's still good.
So I usually wear this jean jacket in the spring and summer and I haven't worn it in the fall or winter so I thought it would be a challenge to myself to create an outfit for the cooler weather. But actually right now in California it's been pretty warm, so I was happy that today it was a bit cooler. So when I was thinking of how to wear this denim jacket I was thinking how I always wear my faux leather jackets with denim, and I remembered that I have a pair of faux leather pants that I haven't worn yet. So that's how my outfit came together.
{Jacket, Tank & Pants - Forever 21+} {Scarf - H&M} {Shoes - Call it Spring}
So I decided to keep my whole outfit black to really highlight my jean jacket and also because I was in the mood to wear all black. But I did break up the black with my leopard print scarf. I like how my outfit came out even though I wanted to go for a more dressed up look and it came out more casual, I still like it.
Do you have a favorite "something old" item in your closet?

Curves Around the World: Grunge

Hey Beauties!!!
I hope everyone is having an amazing week so far, I'm just waiting for the weekend to come because I'm off to Vegas this weekend. I can't wait to get away for a the weekend with my friends it's been awhile since this happened.
It's that time of the week again for another "Curves Around the World" theme and this weeks theme is Grunge! Now "Grunge" really isn't my type of style but I thought it was a great challenge for me to be creative with the clothes I have to create a grunge look plus step out of my comfort zone a little. So when I think of grunge I think of the 90's and I grew up in the 90's but I wasn't really into grunge, I was a teenybopper, the one with posters all over the walls, yeah that was me! But I do remember the grunge fashion from that time, I remember band tee's, flannel shirts, and ripped jeans. I tried my best to make this style my own.
So I don't own any band tee's so I thought maybe I could use this graphic tee for my version because I think it fit well with the theme. I wanted to wear a beanie but I couldn't find it so I decided to wear another hat that I crocheted but now that I look at the pictures it might not have been a great idea for this theme.
{Top - H&M} {Skirt - I heart Ronson} {Jacket - Thrifted} {Hat - DIY}
So with my shirt I paired it with a faux leather skater skirt, I originally wanted to wear the same skirt I used last week but I didn't want to wear the same skirt two weeks in a row, so I thought this skirt was a good alternative. I'm also wearing a member's only jacket which is more of an 80's thing but most of my jackets I don't think would go with the theme. I'm not sure it really fits but I like it together.
To finish off the outfit I put on some old stockings, they have a few rips which I think adds to the grunge but you can't really see the rips too much but they are there. Also I wore my chucks or converse to finish off the look, and let me tell you I haven't worn these shoes in a really long time. The thing is I used to wear converse all the time, actually they were the only shoes I wore in high school and through most of college. I wasn't a big shoe person, I was the girl that wore converse to prom and to the clubs. But when I got more into fashion I decided to put away the converse and try new kinds of shoes, so yeah this pair hasn't been worn for almost 3 years, yeah I know that's a long time. I forgot how comfortable they were and how much I miss wearing them, so I might just wear these more often.
I don't think my look is all out grunge because it really isn't me but there are bits and pieces in there, that make this look grunge with me in there. How do you think I did with this weeks theme? What do you think about the Grunge style?

Curves Around the World: DIY

Hello Hello Hello!
I hope everyone is having a fantastic 2014 so far! I'm happy to be back blogging, I took a mini break from things just to enjoy the holiday's with my family and friends. But I missed blogging and checking out everyone's blogs, it's going to take me awhile to catch up on all the blogs I follow. But I'm really looking forward to this upcoming year of blogging, I'm hoping to start posting more and about different things as well!
So of coarse my first post of the year is "Curves Around the World" post and I'm excited for the upcoming themes that we've come up with. But this weeks theme is "DIY or Do it Yourself" and let me tell you for someone like me who doesn't have much money to buy a lot of things, it's great to DIY things to spruce up your wardrobe.
So for my DIY for this post is my crocheted hat, I learned how to crochet my first year of college and I used to crochet non-stop when I learned. But recently I haven't had the time and the patience to crochet. But I do miss doing it and I might just start doing it again. I first started crocheting scarfs and then I learned to crochet a beret type hat and let me tell you I have quite a few and in so many colors but then I started giving them away as gifts to friends that now I don't have too many to be honest. Maybe that's a sign I should start doing it again.
|What I'm Wearing|
| Sweater : Target | Top : Old Navy | Skirt | Forever 21+ |
| Tights : Old Navy| Boots : Ross |
 So if you follow my on Instagram you might have seen this sweatshirt, it's from the Phillip Lim collaboration with Target. The day this collaboration came out it was crazy, I went to target I think at 8:10 and people had multiple bags in hand. I really wanted a bag so I thought maybe I could go to another Target and find some, I ended up going to 5 different targets and not finding any of the bags. But I did have my eye on this sweater so I was happy I was able to find this in an XL and I was happy it actually fit too. But yeah on a side note after a few months my friend surprised me and was able to get me one of the small bags. Which I have to do an outfit with in the future. :)
What do you think of DIY? What are things you like to DIY? I would love to hear some of the things you DIY because I would love to try new things.
